  • I am changed

As I am a Pokhara based journalist, one of my friends from Kathamndu requested me to send some stories to his magazine in Kathmandu regularly. It was really a good offer for me but I said him sorry that I am unable to do that. It is because I am very much busy these days so I happened to refuse his request.

As I wrote before, I run a news site www.recentfusion.com these days and it should be updated every day as far as it is possible. Besides that I am a Pokhara bureau chief of The The Himalayan Times, the leading English daily in Nepal and Annapurna Post, Nepali national daily, so I could hardly manage myself.

Writing these sentences I am remembering my days of teenage and finding vast change in myself. At that time I was only student and I haven't any job. My mum wished I had a good job. However it didn't take long time and journalism attracted me. So I am in journalism for more than eight consecutive years. Here if I compare my recent and past days, I got very much differences in me.

  • My tea habit

Being a media person, I have to attend many programs especially press conferences and inaugural functions everyday. Most of the organizers don't miss to feed tea to the delegates and at that time many of my friends are in confused regarding my tea habit.

Actually my tea habit is irregular because I sometime take tea but sometime not so my friends are confused. Talking about fact, in the days of summer, I don't take tea but take daily in winter. If I feel cold I sip tea is my habit however I am not a tea habitual.

I still remember that the passage about tea and coffee was read in my high school era. Having tea or coffee is not an unhealthy thing, the passage states so. In Nepal, people normally take tea in the morning time but any other times also are used for the having.

  • My thoughts in a rainy day

It is raining all day today so I passed my most of the time updating my site Recent Fusion i.e. www.recentfusion.com and sitting inside the office. The September is about to finish but I am surprise that the rain has not been stopped even in this period.

However I fond of enjoying the raining time and feel very cool in such time. Though there is raining in Pokhara, the street are not empty and people are moving ahead towards their destination. I could see them wearing raincoat and using umbrella.

Pokhara is a place where we could enjoy long range of mountains but today the north site has blanked by bright cloud. It is also a time of trekking so many people are busy in trekking Annapurna Region but they now must be struggling continuous rain.

The temperature now is neither hot nor cold however my friends are feeling cooler than past days. Now it starts the cold season within days and we will be wearing sweaters and jackets to warm ourselves. I am now in t-shirt and jeans but the changing in weather will displace this t-shirt.

It was scheduled that our house of speaker Subash Nembang should come to Pokhara today but the continuous rain made the plane cancel. The distance between Pokhara and Kathmandu is about 2 hundred kilometers so it takes at least five hours to get Pokhara from our capital city Katmandu by bus. So it is the cause that he didn't arrive here today.

Generally it is not a time of raining here but we are seeing it. Why? I have heard and read about global warming but is it the aftermath of that? I am not sure but I guess it is. However there has not conducted any study about the global warming. In my opinion now we must be aware about it.

  • I have now my own website

First of all, I am sorry for not submitting any post for a long time. In this moment I would like to express my happiness that hostage journalist Alan Johnston has been released. In this gap, I was busy in preparing a news site. It has just designed and hosted as well. In coming days I would be busy with my site, http://recentfusion.com however I will be also blogging here in blog.co.uk because I learned more about blog from this site.

Talking about recentfusion.com, It is the only and first English medium news portal out of capital valley, Katmandu in Nepal. It is mainly a bridge between Nepal and outer world as well as a fusion of feelings and happenings wherever they are from but my town Pokhara and surrounding is its key concern. News, promotional travel journals, weblogs and infotainments are the major appendages of this site. I would be very much rapture to get your ideas, comments and views.

  • Where is Alan Johnston?

Today marks Alan Johnston's 100 days in captivity. It is very painful for a reporter as well as to all the conscious citizens that a news reporter is still in captivity. Mr. Johnston is a Gaza correspondent of BBC but it is sad that the requests from various sectors over his release are being worthless. His parents, all the BBC staffers and journalists and many people from all over the world have been urging for his release since his abduction.
The Army of Islam had claimed that Mr. Johnston was in their captivity but no more information has been revealed. Demanding the release of Mr. Johnston over 160,000 signatures from the people have been carried out by BBC in its site. Being a reporter such incident like Johnston abduction definitely hurts me. During the period of 10 years insurgency in Nepal too, we Nepali journalists also had to face the problem of abduction, threatening and others from both the government and the Maoists side however the situation is very good now. In the context of Johnston, I would like to request those people who abducted him to release Mr. Johnston as soon as possible.
